Medicinal Marijuana & the Workplace
According to Health Canada the number of medical marijuana users will increase from 40,000 to 450,000 by 2024, approximately 60% of which will be employed, meaning that within 5 years there will be over 100,000 workers authorized to use medicinal marijuana.
Since 2013, MCRCI has provided industry with information and guidelines designed to provide employers with a comprehensive understanding of the issues and complexity of medicinal cannabis and workplace safety.

MCRCI has legal experts available to advise employers as to their legal obligations and responsibilities regarding medicinal marijuana in the workplace.

MCRCI has medical professionals available to educate employers on marijuana strains and usage as well as provide guidelines and structure.

MCRCI medical staff will help employers and employees determine the appropriateness of medicinal cannabis as a treatment option, on a case by case basis.
